Additional information :Supervision of the project as an engineer of the company ETANE ATE which was the contractor of the project.
The project involved the removal of the crumbling and damaged elements of the minaret and its reconstruction with parallel internal reinforcement with slats, mechanical bolts and special cement mortar as well as the removal and repair and repositioning of the upper part (ball), creation of casts of decorative elements and construction of new ones, etc. The project was completed in 1993, and the minaret has not shown any problems to date. Particular mention should be made of the cutting, without vibration, of the 'bubble-ball' in the upper part of the minaret, using a special device, and the reconstruction of parts (e.g. the internal staircase), which were carried out in an excellent manner. The upper part was re-installed, after having been reinforced and maintained , and its reinforcement was carried out with appropriate materials. Minaret Reis Murat, Rhodes Town.
